Question : Quality Norms for Telecom Operators

(a) whether the Government has laid down any norms for quality of network of mobile service providers and if so, the details thereof;

(b) if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Government has any information relating to the total number of subscribers of each of the Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) and if so, the details thereof TSP-wise and State/UT-wise;

(d) whether the Government has any data relating to such subscribers who are availing the services of two or more than two TSPs; and

(e) if so, the number of such subscribers who are using the services of another TSP in addition to BSNL State/ UT-wise?

(a) & (b) Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has laid down the norms for Quality of network of mobile service providers. Details are given at Annexure-I.

(c) The wireless subscriber base, Telecom Service Provider-wise (TSP-wise) and State/Union Territory-wise, reported as on 30th September 2018 is given at Annexure- II.

(d) to (e) Such data is not maintained by the Government.
