Question : Establishment of Startups


(a) whether the Government has recently called on firms of foreign countries to attract foreign capital of the largest startup base in the country and if so, the details thereof along with its key objectives;

(b) the details of the States wherein these startups are likely to come up, State-wise including Jharkhand;


(c) the details of the startups established in different States along with the employment generated therefrom during the last three years, State-wise; and
(d) the steps taken by the Government to ensure even employment opportunities are generated across all States in this regard?

(a): Startup India Global Venture Capital Summit 2018 was held on 6th and 7th December 2018 in Goa to showcase India’s diverse market & transformative technology innovations to the Investors across the world. It was a unique gathering of Global Fund Managers, Limited Partners, Officials from the Government of India and path-breaking startups. The dialogue focused on the huge return-generating potential of India’s vast and diverse market monetized through cutting-edge technologies supported by investor-friendly regulations.

(b)to(d): Startup India initiative aims to promote Startups across all the States and UTs. As on 12.07.2019, there are 19,874 recognised startups under the initiative across 513 districts covering all 29 States and 6 Union Territories. Of these, 18,034 startups have self-declared employment information. The state-wise number of recognized startups and employment generated based on self-declared information by startups is at Annexure I.
