Question : Yoga Research Institutes

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) the number of Government Yoga and Naturopathy Research Institutes presently functioning in the country, State/ UT-wise;

(b) whether the Government is planning to establish more Yoga and Naturopathy Research Institutes in different parts of the country;

(c) if so, the details thereof, State/UTwise including UP and Kerala; and

(d) the other measures being taken by the Government to promote research work on yoga and naturopathy?

(a): Presently the Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN) is running 01 Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy at Rohini, Delhi.
In addition to this National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), has established a Research Desk to look into institutional research and collaborative studies.
(b) & (c): Yes, the details are given at Annexure.
(d): The CCRYN is taking following measures to promote research work on Yoga & Naturopathy in the country: -
1. Establishment of Institutes of Yoga and Naturopathy Research with 200 bedded Yoga and Naturopathy hospital at Jhajjar, Haryana and Nagmangala, Karnataka.

2. Establishment of Central Research Institutes of Yoga & Naturopathy in different States of the country along with 100 bedded indoor hospital facilities to carry out in depth research studies to establish the efficacy of Yoga and Naturopathy in various remedies.

3. Collaborative Research Centre to verify the efficacy of Yoga & Naturopathy in various diseases.

Establishment of Yoga and Naturopathy OPDs: The Council is already running 7 Yoga and Naturopathy OPDs in Govt. Hospital of Delhi and Haryana. It has opened 6 new OPDs in Odisha, Tripura, Kerala, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
