Question : COMPUTERISATION OF LAND RECORDS



(a) whether a scheme for computerisation of land records is being implemented at national level;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of the allocation made as Central assistance to the States and the expenditure incurred under the Scheme during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise;

(d) whether the assessment of the progress by various States under the said scheme has been made; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) Yes Sir. A centrally sponsored scheme in the shape of the National Land Records Modernization Programme (NLRMP) is being implemented since the year 2008-09. This program envisages to modernize management of land records, minimize scope of land/property disputes, enhances transparency in the land records maintenance system and to facilitate moving eventually towards guaranteed conclusive titles to immoveable properties in the country.

(c) The State/UT-wise fund released under NLRMP during each of the last three years and the current year and utilization of funds till date is at Annexure-I.

(d) &(e) The States/UTs and the Department of Land Resources regularly assess the progress made by various States/UTs under the NLRMP. The progress of various States/UTs in Computerization of Land Records and Registration is at Annexure-II.
