(a) whether the Government has received reports of underutilization of funds by certain PSUs;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and
(c) the corrective steps taken/being taken by the Government in the current Five Year Plan period ?

(a) & (b): As per information available in Public Enterprises Survey 2013-14 laid in the Parliament Oil 26.2.2015, the reserve & surplus and cash & bank balance available with Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) was Rs.7,51,350 crore and Rs.2,53,464 crore respectively as on 31.03.2014. Low leverage of Owners` equity is also noticed. The expenditure in the CPSEs is decided by the Board of Directors as per the require- ment of the CPSEs.
(c); The administrative Ministries having jurisdiction over CPSEs monitor the functioning of CPSEs on continuous basis.
