(a) the provisions regarding partnership of Indian universities with foreign universities;
(b) whether foreign universities are following their own curriculum in the country and if so, the details thereof;
(c) the maximum amount of funds that the foreign universities can invest in the country under the extant rules;
(d) whether there is any special scheme to promote foreign investment in the education sector in India; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a): The University Grants Commission (UGC) has notified the UGC (Promotion and Maintenance of Standards of Academic Collaboration between Indian and Foreign Educational Institutions) Regulations 2012, which spell out the modalities regarding the eligibility criteria and the conditions for the collaboration of a foreign educational institution with an Indian educational institution.
(b): Yes, Madam. However, the UGC Regulations mandate that the programme of study offered and imparted by foreign educational institutions in India are in con- formity with the standards laid down by the respective statutory regulatory body and as per the conditions prescribed by the Government of India.
(c): The Government has allowed Foreign Direct Inve- stment (FDI) up to 100% under the automatic route in the education sector subject to applicable laws/ sectoral rules/regulation/security conditions.
(d) & (e): No, Madam.
