(a) whether the Express Money Transfer Service was suspended in some Telecom Circles of the country especially in Karnataka;
(b) if so, the reasons therefor; and
(c) the remedial action taken to resume the service and to ensure prompt payment of EMT?

(a) to (c): Yes, Sir. EMT Service has been temporarily disrupted at some places due to change in banking arrangements following transition from Government system to Corporate System from 1.10.2000. In Karnataka the service has not been introduced so far. Necessary banking arrangements are being made to put back the services at normal level as soon as possible.
