(a) to (c) Various Canal Projects in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and
Madhya Pradesh are ongoing. As per âTenth Five Year Plan (2002-07)
and Annual Plan (2002-03), Major and Medium Irrigation, Drainage
and Flood Control Programme, Water Resources Department,
Government of Biharâ the North Koel Project has been scheduled to
be completed by 2004-05. The expenditure on this Project up to
March 2002 is Rs. 555.69 crore and the project will create an
ultimate irrigation potential of 105.90 th.ha. Irrigation being a
State subject, irrigation projects are planned, investigated,
implemented and funded by the concerned State Governments as per
their own priorities.
