(a): The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has been implementing various schemes/programmes for development of fisheries and aquaculture in the country including in the State of Madhya Pradesh. The schemes/programmes implemented include, (i) Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) on Blue Revolution: Integrated Development and Management of Fisheries implemented for a period of 5 years from 2015-16 to 2019-20 for development of fisheries in the country, (ii) Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF) with a total fund size of Rs.7,522.48 crore for providing concessional finance for creation and strengthening of fisheries infrastructure facilities including in the field of inland fisheries and aquaculture, (iii) Extension of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) facility to fishers and fish farmers to help them to meet their working capital needs for fisheries and aquaculture and (iv) implementing a flagship scheme namely “Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY)” with highest ever estimated investment of Rs. 20050 crore in fisheries sector for a period of 5 years with effect from the financial year 2020-21as a part of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Package.
(b) to (e): The PMMSY inter-alia lays special focus on training, skill development, skill up-gradation and capacity building through trainings, awareness building programmes and exposure visits to stakeholders especially fishers, fish farmers, fish workers, fish vendors, entrepreneurs, officials, fisheries Cooperatives and members of Fish Farmer Producer Organizations. The Training, Awareness, Exposure and Capacity Building programmes are carried out through the National Fisheries Development Board, ICAR institutes, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), other organisations and State/UT Fisheries Departments. A total of 3452 outreach events and 338 Training and capacity building programmes covering about 30.18 lakh persons have been completed so far.
The Department of Fisheries, Government of India during the financial years 2020-21 and 2021-22 has accorded approval to the fisheries development proposals of Government of Madhya Pradesh at a total cost of Rs. 323.73 crore and released central funds of Rs.72.59 crore to the Government of Madhya Pradesh for development of fisheries in the State.
State-wise and scheme-wise central fund released during the last three years and current year for development of fisheries and aquaculture are furnished at Annexure-I.
