(a) whether the Union Government proposes to launch or considering any special scheme to encourage the solar energy system in the North Eastern States including Assam;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Union Government to set up and encourage the installation of solar system/equipment in these States during the last three years?

(a)&(b): Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has been implementing Off Grid and Decentralized Solar PV Applications Programme throughout the country including North Eastern States. Central Financial Assistance (CFA) provided under the Programme for Government establishments in North Eastern States is three times of CFA given to General Category States.
(c): MNRE have been sanctioning projects to North Eastern States to encourage installation of Solar PV systems. The details of sanctioned projects during the last three year and current year are given at Annexure.
