(a)National Mission for a Green India (GIM) is one of the eight Missions under the National Action Plan on Climate Change. It aims to address climate change by increasing the forest/tree cover, improvement in the quality of forest/tree cover and provision of alternative fuel energy sources to households.
(b)to (d) Andhra Pradesh is one of the States where National Mission for a Green India is being implemented. The perspective plan of the state for a period of six years was approved in 2015 to carry out the Mission’s activities in 3227 ha area and distribution of alternative fuel energy to 2492 households. Funds were released during the financial year 2016-17 due to limited budget allocation under GIM in 2015-16. The details of physical targets and achievement are given below:
