(a) to (c) No, Sir. While no National Postal Policy has been formally announced, development of the sector over the last five decades has been guided by policy imperatives spelt out in the various Five Year Plans. However, in view of the fast paced developments in the communication sector, there is need for a National Postal Policy which will, inter-alia, define the role and future development of postal services in meeting communication needs. No new policy has yet been formulated.
