(a) the details of funds allocated for the gauge conversion project linking Coimbatore with
Dindigul;
(b) whether the Railways have any proposal to increase the allocation of funds since the
project provides the crucial link between the Western and Southern parts of Tamil Nadu; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a): An outlay of Rs. 31 crore has been proposed for Dindigul-Pollachi-Palghat and
Pollachi-Palghat gauge conversion project in the Railway Budget 2009-10.
(b) & (c): The conversion of this line will be progressed as per the availability of
resources.
