(a) whether the Government has any plan for providing at least one laptop to each class
of a school in rural areas of the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the amount of grant sanctioned to States including
Gujarat for implementing this project during the current financial year; and
(c) if not, the reason therefor?

(c) The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in School (ICT @ School)
component of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan
(RMSA) provides support to States/ Union Territories to set up ICT infrastructure such as
Computers, Printers, Projectors, scanners etc., in Government and Government aided
secondary and senior secondary schools to impart computer literacy and promote computer
enabled learning.
