(a) whether the Government has sanctioned/proposes to sanction any project under the Comprehensive Handloom Cluster Development Scheme (CHCDS) in Bhagalpur;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether three Greenfield projects have been approved in Bhagalpur district by the Government under the CHCDS;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the funds allocated for Greenfield project under CHCDS?

(a) to (e): Ministry of Textiles is implementing National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP). Earlier schemes of Comprehensive Handloom Cluster Development Scheme (CHCDS) and Handloom Weaver Comprehensive Welfare Scheme (HWCWS) have been merged with NHDP. Under this programme, funds are not allocated State-wise but are released based on the proposals received from the States/UTs.
Bhagalpur Mega Handloom Cluster was announced in the year 2014-15 under the erstwhile Comprehensive Handloom Cluster Development Scheme and financial assistance of Rs. 4.98 Crore has been provided for three Greenfield projects viz. setting up of Dye house, Design Studio & Product Development Centre respectively and for providing financial assistance to 10 smaller clusters.
