States have been directed to take special care for the implementation of its schemes / programmes in tribal areas and report its progress separately on the online Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) of this Ministry. As reported in IMIS by the States, 58,878 tribal dominated habitations are partially covered and 12,762 tribal dominated habitations are quality affected and the State Governments are asked to focus on these habitations on priority basis to provide safe drinking water as per norms.
