THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY ( SHRI DIGVIJAY SINGH )
(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. It has been the constant endeavour of the Government to increase bilateral trade with friendly countries including Australia. Steps taken in this direction include regular inter-action to review trade related matters under the institutional mechanism of Joint Ministerial Commission headed by Commerce & Industry Minister, and setting up of a Joint Working Group on Energy and Minerals, etc. These are supplemented by regular meetings of India - Australia Joint Business Council at the trade and industry level.
