Question : Crop Loan Waiver Scheme

(a) the total amount of outstanding loans waived in the States/districts during the last three years and the current year along with the criteria adopted in this regard;

(b) whether the Government is aware that the distribution of benefits, number of beneficiaries and the amount of outstanding loans of farmers waived under the crop loan waiver scheme across the States is skewed/ uneven;

(c) whether some States/districts have not been given equitable benefits under the scheme;

(d) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and

(e) the corrective steps taken/proposed to be taken in this regard?

(a) to (e): Government of India has not announced any farm loan waiver during the last three years and is also not in favour of the same. However, States announce their own Farm Loan Waiver Schemes as per their own policy from their own resources. Government of India does not maintain the information pertaining to loan waivers by State Governments.
