(a) whether there is inordinate delay in providing financial assistance to Maharashtra Govt. for Punad Irrigation Project under Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP);
(b) if so, the reasons therefor; and
(c) the time by when the assistance would be released to the State Government?

(a) to (c) The Central Loan Assistance (CLA) under
Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (AIBP)
is provided for such major/medium irrigation
projects, which have been given investment
clearance by the Planning Commission and are in
an advanced stage of completion. As the Punad
Irrigation Project has not received investment
clearance from the Planning Commission, it does
not fulfil the norms of AIBP.
