Question : CHAMBAL DRINKING WATER PROJECT



(a) the progress of Chambal drinking water project which is to provide water to Bhilwada and Chittorgarh regions in Rajasthan;

(b) whether the Government proposes to complete the said project within the prescribed time limit and if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the drinking water is to be provided to Bhilwada town in the first phase of the project and if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the Government proposes to provide additional budget to complete the project at the earliest; and

(e) if so, the details thererof?

MINISTER OF STATE FOR DRINKING WATER AND SANITATION (SHRI RAM KRIPAL YADAV)

(a ) As per the information provided by the State Government of Rajasthan , the drinking water from this project is to be supplied to the Bilwara district only covering 9 towns and 1688 villages. No town and villages of Chittorgarh are targeted to be benefited from this project.

The Project is divided into two phases:-

(i) Chambal Bhilwara Water Supply Project Phase I- for Rs 728.00 crores. The details are enclosed at Annexure -A.

(ii) Chambal Bhilwara Water Supply Project Phase II - for Rs 1495.68 crore. The details are enclosed at Annexure - A

(b ) Yes, Madam. The details of the progress of the project is at annexure-A

(c ) Yes , the drinking water will be provided to Bhiiwara city in phase-I of the project.

The details of the project are given in Annexure-B.

(d) The project is to be completed as per the Budget provisions mentioned in (a) above. The Budget provision for 2014-15 as per modified Budget Finance Committee (BFC) 2014-15 is Rs. 284.50 Crores under State Plan and NRDWP. Details are enclosed at Annexure - C.
