Question : EXPANSION OF TELEPHONE EXCHANGES IN BUDHLADA



(a) whether a proposal for expansion of telephone exchange in Budhlada in Punjab is lying pending since long;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons for not clearing the same; and

(c) the steps taken by the Government in this regard ?

(a) No, Sir. The capacity of Budhlada exchange was increased from 2400 lines to 4400 lines in March`2000. It is further proposed to be expanded by 1000 lines during 2000-01.
