(a) to (c) : Yes, Sir. The proposal for Rayalseema Thermal Power Station Stage-II
(2x210 MW) was accorded techno-economic clearance by Central Electricity Authority (CEA) in June, 1993 for implementation in the State sector. The project could not be
taken up for implementation due to financial constraints. The revised cost of the project
as approved by the CEA is Rs.1573 crores. The Equipment Procurement and
Construction (EPC) contract has since been awarded by Andhra Pradesh Power
Generation Corporation (APGENCO) to a consortium of Zhejiang Machinery &
Equipment Import Export Corporation (ZMEC) & China National Machinery &
Equipment Import & Export Corporation (CMEC) of China.
As per the terms of contract, the power plant is expected to be
commissioned within 43 months of the payment of advance by M/s. APGENCO.
