(a) whether the Government have any proposal for construction of a Super Highway in Orissa ;

(a) & (b) No, Sir. There is no proposal to construct a Super Highway in Orissa. However, National Highway No. 5 and 60 in the State, forming part of Golden Quadrilateral, are being four laned under National Highways Development Project. The work is targetted to be substantially completed by December 2003.
(c) Details are annexed.
(d) Development of National Highways is a continuous process and is taken up in a phased manner keeping in view the traffic needs, inter- se priority and availability of funds.
