(a) to (f) The information has been collected from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Admission to MBBS course in all the Medical colleges / institutions except All India Institute of
Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research
(JIPMER) are made through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). AIIMS and JIPMER
conducts their own entrance exam for admission to MBBS course.
Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 which received assent of the
president on 08th August, 2019 provides for holding of a common and uniform National Eligibilitycum-
Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical
institutions, including those governed under any other law. Thus, the admission to MBBS course in
AIIMS and JIPMER will be made through NEET from the academic year 2020-21 onwards. This will
ensure a common standard of medical education in the country and the students will not have to
appear in multiple exams.
