MINISTER OF EDUCATION

(SHRI RAMESH POKHRIYAL ‘NISHANK’)

(a) to (e): Based on the complaints received from the students, parents, general public and also through electronic print media, University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the list of 24 so-called Universities which are offering Degree Programmes without recognition under Section 2(f) and Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Out of these 24 so-called Universities, 3 cases have been identified in the last three years. The details of these so-called Universities are available on the UGC’s website www.ugc.ac.in. UGC has no connection with these so-called Universities. In this regard, letters have been sent by UGC to the concerned State Governments from time to time for taking action against these so-called Universities.
