THE MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING (SMT. SUSHMA SWARAJ)

(a) to (e): 131 AIR Stations are already having computer facilities for office work, on line information exchange with zonal offices and headquarters. During the 10th Plan, the Prasar Bharati proposes to computerize all AIR Stations. AIR, Jalgaon is already equipped with computer facility along with internet and e-mail and a similar facility is being installed at AIR, Dhule very shortly. None of the Doordarshan Kendras in the country is fully computerized. However, computer based equipments, as well as computers for office works, are available at a large number of Kendras. Computer based equipments and computers for Doordarshan Kendras are being procured and installed from time to time depending upon availability of resources. A scheme for provision of 460 computers with associated equipments for streamlining office work at various DD Stations has been sanctioned recently.

Statewise details of AIR Stations, including those equipped with computer facilities and DD installations presently functioning in the country are given at Annexure-I & II respectively.
