Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government proposes to make it compulsory to link Aadhaar Card with Driving Licence;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?
) to (c): As per information received from Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, in compliance to the order of the Supreme Court dated 26th September, 2018 in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 494 of 2012- Justice K. S. Puttaswamy (Retd.) & Anr. Vs. Union of India & Ors., Ministry of Road Transport and Highways stopped the process of verification using Aadhaar for the Driving Licenses.
