(a) Yes, Madam. Ministry of Culture, Government of India has plan to establish science centres and science cities in different parts of the country in phased manner during 12th & 13th Plan Period through National Council of Science Museums (NCSM). Mobile Science Exhibition units are integral part of the science centres/cities. The Department of Biotechnology has established Bio-technology Parks in some States and is planning to launch Bio-Technology Parks in other States of the country. BT Park projects are initiated by the State Government and are partially supported by the Department of Biotechnology. These Biotech Parks are aimed at promoting Biotech industries. School children would benefit by visit to these parks by observing the Biotechnology lab techniques and industrial production of various Biotech products etc.
(b) The following science centre/city projects will be taken up by NCSM during 12th & 13th Plan Period in phased manner:

A proposal for establishment of a Science City in Hyderabad has been received prior to formation of Telangana. Viability of the project is under evaluation.

Proposals have also been received for setting up of Biotech Parks in the States of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, & Chattisgarh. These proposals have been examined in the meetings of Expert Committee on BT Parks.
(c) Yes Madam. The establishment of science centres/cities will immensely help in awareness on science and technology and development of scientific temper in the local community of the respective regions of the country.
(d) Non-formal science education, science communication, economic, social and personal impact on the users community of the facilities of the science centres/cities.
