Question : REHABILITATION CENTRES FOR PERSONS WITH SPINAL INJURIES



(a) whether the Government have set up or propose to set up Regional Rehabilitation Centres (RRCs) for persons with spinal injuries and orthopaedic disabilities;

(b) if so, the cities at which these centres have been set up or proposed to be set up, State-wise;

(c) whether there is any proposal to set up R.R.C. at Hyderabad;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the total money sanctioned and spent under the project?

(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. Four regional Rehabilitaton Centres (RRCs) for persons with spinal injuries and orthopaedic disabilities are approved to be set up at Mohali (Pnjab), Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), Cuttack (Orissa) and Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh).

(c) No, Sir.

(d) Does not arise.

(e) A total amount of Rs.9.35 crores has been released for the RRCs so far.
