(a) & (b): Indian Army has Army Dog Units deployed in various operational areas/other locations under the various Regional Commands.
Presently, there are 25 Army Dog Units (Full) and 02 Army Dog Units (Half). The Army Dog Unit (Full) is authorised 24 Army Dogs and Army Dog Unit (Half) is authorised 12 Army Dogs.
(c) The total amount spent on training, food, and other expenses like medicines (excluding manpower) on the dog squads of Indian Army during 2018-19 is INR 1,24,11,450/- (Rupees One Crore Twenty Four Lakh Eleven Thousand Four Hundred Fifty only).
