Question : FUNDS FOR CORE SECTOR IN TENTH PLAN



(a) whether the Government have prepared a blueprint of the Tenth Five Year Plan;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the details of the financial assistance to be provided under the said plan to different core sectors and the target fixed for growth rates?

(a) to (c): Yes Sir, The Approach Paper to the Tenth Five Year Plan was approved by the National Development Council (NDC) in its 49th meeting held on 1st September, 2001 and has been placed on the table of the House on 28th November, 2001. The Approach Paper aims at the stepping up the overall Growth rate of GDP to 8% per annum over the Plan period 2002-2007. The formulation of the Tenth Five Year Plan is in the progress. Allocation among various sectors including core sectors will be decided at the time of finalisation of the Tenth Five Year Plan.
