MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AND MINISTER OF EARTH SCIENCES(KAPIL SIBAL)
(a) to (c): Department of Science and Technology had submitted a proposal for taking over
of the Centre for Plasma Physics(CPP), Guwahati for consideration of the Government of India.
The Planning Commission commented that a similar Institute, Institute of Plasma Research (IPR),
is working in the same field and is already under the Government of India (Department of Atomic
Energy). It would be desirable that the activities of the Centre for Plasma Physics, Guwahati are
integrated with the Institute of Plasma Research (IPR), under the Department of Atomic Energy.
The matter is being taken up with the Department of Atomic Energy.
