(a) There are 17 States where the number of applications for Haj 2010 are more than the quota
allotted and from where, in general, there is a demand for allotment of more quota.
(b) The quota of States is allotted on the basis of the percentage of the Muslim population as
per the 2001 census and any increase will depend on the results of the ongoing census.
