Question : Small Scale Industry Status to Dye Making Industry

(a) whether the Union Government is likely to award small scale industry status to the ancient jewellery dye making business of Palghar district of Maharashtra which is quite popular among the tourists and if so, the details thereof; and

(b) whether any coordination has been set up with the Government of Maharashtra or any scheme is being formulated for awarding recognition to the jewellery dye making business as that of an industry and exploring a market for it under tourism and if so, the details thereof ?

(a): Under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (MSMED Act, 2006), the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises have been classified as follows:-

(b): The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) implements various schemes and programmes for promotion and development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) throughout the country, including Maharashtra. These include the schemes/programmes such as Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries(SFURTI), A Scheme for Promoting Innovation, Rural Industry and Entrepreneurship (ASPIRE), National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme(NMCP), Micro and Small Enterprises-Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP), National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hub(NSSH), etc.
