Question : Implementation of AB-PMJAY in States

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether many States has shown reluctance or refused to implement central schemes like Ayushman Bharat etc., if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;

(b) the steps taken/being taken by the Government to formulate a policy to tackle this indifferent attitude of some State Governments;

(c) the number of beneficiaries availed the benefit and likely to avail in 2019-20 under the scheme State-wise and total fund earmarked by Government for this purpose; and

(d) whether sufficient funds are allocated for expansion of the scheme, if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): The information with respect to central schemes like Ayushman Bharat is being collected and would be placed on the table of the House.
(c ) & (d): As on 24.06.2019, the total number of hospital admissions under Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) is 29,96,635. The total number of beneficiaries is around 10.74 crore.

Sufficient funds have been allocated for implementation of AB-PMJAY. At Interim Budget stage (2019-20), Rs. 6400/- crore were earmarked for AB-PMJAY.
