(a) whether the National Sports Federations (NSFs) faces dearth of coaches keeping in view the present requirement;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;
(c) whether the Government/NSFs proposes to hire foreign coaches to meet the present
requirement;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) if not, the reasons and alongwith the other steps/action taken/being taken by the
Government in this regard?

(a&b) No Madam. Coaches are available in majority of sports discipline.However, in certain
disciplines like Netball,
Rugby etc., which are new sports, coaches are not available.
(c) Foreign coaches have been hired on contract in certain sports disciplines to provide
advance training to Sportspersons. The foreign coaches from leading sports nations or individuals
who have excelled at the International level have been hired not only to train the Indian sportspersons
but also to enhance the skills of Indian coaches.
(d) Details of foreign coaches hired during the current calendar year is attached at Annexure –I.
