(a) whether the Government has established National Institute of Technical Teachers
Training and Research in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise;
(c) whether the Government proposes to establish National Institute of Technical Teachers
Training and Research in the State of Chhattisgarh;
(d) if so, the details thereof and the time by which it is likely to be established;
(e) whether the Government is considering the proposals for release of funds under RUSA
to Technological Universities, Engineering Colleges and Professional Colleges during
the current year; and
(f) if so, whether the Government of India is considering coverage of remaining
Engineering Colleges, Professional Colleges and Technological University under
TEQUIP-2 Programme and if so, the details thereof?

(a) Yes, Madam.
(b) The Government has established four National Institutes of Technical Teachers’
Training and Research (NITTTRs) in the country at Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh),
Chandigarh, Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and Kolkata (West Bengal) to meet the
requirements of the trainees and students of the four regions of the country.
(c) No, Madam.
(d) Does not arise.
(e) Yes, Madam. Under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), proposals of the
State Government for funding support for infrastructure improvements in Universities
including Technical Universities and for creation of new Colleges (Professional &
Technical) have been approved by RUSA Project Approval Board (PAB) and funding
provided to 115+26 such Institutions.
(f) Under Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme, 191 Institutions
including 26 Centrally Funded Institutions, 127 Government/Government Aided and 38
Private Institutions are participating.
