(a) Whether the Union Government has received any proposal from State Government of
Jharkhand regarding allocation of funds for the development of tribal, backward, rural
and hilly areas of the State during the last three years; and
(b) If so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Union Government thereto?

(a): Yes, Sir.
(b): As per the proposal received from the State Government of Jharkhand, one time
Additional Central Assistance amounting to Rs.8.09 crore was approved in 2003-04 for
Livelihood enhancement of poor tribal families through capacity building in scientific Lac
Cultivation and its value addition.
