Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF RAILWAYS AND COMMERCE & INDUSTRY

(SHRI PIYUSH GOYAL)

(a) to (c) : No, Sir. There was no announcement in the last budget for new rail route between Manmad-Malegaon-Dhule-Nardana-Indore and Nashik-Pune.
However, Indore-Manmad new line project (368 km) was included in the pink book 2016-2017 subject to necessary approvals and sanction. The proposal of Indian Port Railway Corporation (IPRCL), a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under Ministry of Shipping, to execute this work under joint venture model of Participative Policy of Ministry of Railways (MoR), was approved in 2018. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) associating Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) and state Government of Madhya Pradesh & Maharashtra has been entered into.
Pune-Nashik route has been identified as a Semi-High Speed route by the State Joint Venture Company of State of Maharashtra and MoR for execution.
