Question : OPENING OF CAFETERIA IN NATIONAL MUSEUM



(a) whether a cafeteria has been opened in the National Museum ignoring the objections raised by the concerned departments, which may result in a major mishap;

(b) if so, the reasons for ignoring the objections and under whose order the cafeteria has been opened;

(c) whether the Government would issue orders to maintain statusquo ante in this regard;

(d) whether punitive action would be taken against the concerned persons; and

(e) if so, the details thereof ?

(a) to (e) : Yes, sir. A Cafeteria has been opened in the National Museum premises. Initially, the Central Public Works Department ( CPWD) had some reservations against opening of the cafeteria. However, after a detailed discussion between National Museum authorities and CPWD officials, the matter has been settled.
