Question : TRAVEL CONCESSION TO PAK NATIONALS



(a) whether the Government have granted further relaxation to Pakistani nationals to go back to Pakistan by Road, Air or any of the authorised check-post;

(b) if so, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether India proposes to urge Pakistan to grant reciprocal facilities for Indians in Pakistan; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) (b) (c) & (d) In recognition of General Musharraf`s commitment to end cross border infiltration on a permanent basis, India, on June 10, 2002, formally announced lifting of the overflight ban on Pakistani Aircraft that was imposed in January 2002 after the December 13 attack on our Parliament. The decision however did not involve the restoration of air links between the two countries.
