Question : Complaints Regarding Dispensing Less Fuel

(a) whether any enquiry had been conducted against the complaint of short fuelling at the petrol pumps in Uttar Pradesh during the year 2017;
(b) if so, the number of petrol pumps found cheating in this regard and the action taken against them;
(c) whether the Government had constituted DRP courts on the appeal of those petrol pumps and DRP courts did not find several petrol pumps guilty;
(d) if so, the action taken by the Government on the basis of the report of DRP; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (e)
Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have informed that Special Task Force, Uttar Pradesh raided retail outlets in Lucknow city during April-May 2017. The raids were followed by inspection drive by joint teams consisting of officials from State administration, Legal Metrology department, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and OMCs across the state of Uttar Pradesh. During the drive, 110 retail outlet dealerships have been terminated on established cases of critical irregularities as per the provisions of the Marketing Discipline Guidelines (MDG) and Dealership agreement subsisting between OMC and their dealership. OMCs have constituted Dispute Resolution Panels (DRP) for appeals arising out of termination of Dealership under MDG.
