Question : Cutting Prices of Arhar

(a) whether the Government is planning to cut prices of arhar recently and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government is planning to ban the sale of the kitchen staple in packets and if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and
(c) whether the Government has communicated with State Governments regarding this issue and if so, the details thereof?

(a) : Government has allocated around 30,032 MT of arhar from the buffer stock to States/UTs at subsidized rates for retailing by them at not more than Rs,120/- per kg to improve availability and stabilized prices.
