(a) whether the National Council of Teacher Education has
cancelled the recognition of many Teacher Education Institutes;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the number of Teacher Education Institutes in Chhattisgarh
whose recognition has been cancelled during the last three
years?

(a) and (b): The Regional Committees of the National Council
for Teacher Education (NCTE) have withdrawn recognition,
between January to December 2010, in respect of 404 teacher
education courses/institutions which were found to be violating
the NCTE Act and the Rules/Regulations made thereunder.
(c): Recognition in respect of 15 teacher education
courses/institutions of Chhattisgarh was withdrawn during the
last three years.
