Question : Quality of works in Government Quarters

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) Whether poor quality material is used in the civil and electrical works carried out by CPWD through contractors in the Government colonies particularly in the type-I/Type-II quarters whereas the tender is awarded for quality material ;
(b) if so, the details thereof, colony-wise;
(c) whether the department has conducted any probe and survey to monitor the work of the contractors in this regard;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the details of action taken against the guilty contractors?

(a): No, Madam.

(b): Does not arise.

(c) to (e): Inspection of works of contractors is carried out regularly to ensure quality. In case of any shortcoming, requisite action is taken under the relevant clauses of the agreement.
