(a) The Government is already implementing various schemes/programs for promoting renewable energy in the country since the year 2014. The details of various schemes/programs being implemented for promoting renewable energy in the country are at Annexure I.
The Government has set a target of installing 175 GW of renewable energy capacity which include 100 GW from solar, 60 GW from wind, 10 GW from biopower and 5 GW from small hydro power by the year 2022. A total Renewable Energy capacity of 74.79 GW has been reported installed in the country as on 31st December, 2018 that include 25.21 GW from solar, 35.14 GW from wind, 9.92 GW from biopower and 4.52 GW from small hydro power.
(b) Proposals are regularly received from State Governments and UT administrations for sanction of eligible Central Financial Assistance (CFA) for different categories of end users or beneficiaries such as Government bodies, private developers, industry, NGOs, individual, etc. under various schemes/programs being implemented by the Ministry for promotion of renewable energy in the country. These proposals if found complete in all respects are processed for sanction and disbursement of eligible CFA as per provisions and guidelines of the respective scheme/program, subject to availability of funds.
(c) The scheme wise details of the funds allocated and utilized for implementation of various schemes of the Ministry in the different states of the country during the last four years and the current year are given in Annexure II.
(d) The Government has set a target of installing 175 GW of renewable energy capacity by the year 2022.
