(a) the funds allocated for Health and Family Welfare Programmes during the Ninth Five Year Plan;

(b) the provision made for this purpose in the Tenth Five Year Plan;

(a)&(b): The allocation for Ninth and Tenth Five Year Plans for Health and Family Welfare Programmes are as under:-

(c)&(d): No, Sir. The Central Government has been making every effort to augment the resources for the health sector by mobilizing external assistance from various bilateral and multilateral agencies for supporting various national health programmes for the control of major diseases. The allocation for Tenth Five Year Plan (2002-07) is Rs.9253 crores as compared to Rs.5118.00 crores during Ninth Five Year Plan in respect of the health sector. The Tenth Plan (2002-07) allocation for National Family Welfare Programme is Rs.27125 crores as against Rs.15120.00 crores during Ninth Five Year Plan.
