MINISTER OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
(SHRI RAMESH POKHRIYAL ‘NISHANK’)
(a) to (d): The Government is aware of plight of Sanskrit newspapers. Rashtriya Sanskrit
Sansthan (RSKS), Delhi an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human
Resource Development is the nodal agency for implementing the policies of the
Government relating to the promotion of Sanskrit knowledge. RSKS under the
scheme for “Financial Assistance for Publication, Re-print of Rare Sanskrit Books
and Bulk Purchase of Sanskrit Books” provide assistance to publishers. There are
only four news papers in Sanskrit language. One newspaper namely ‘Sudharma’
is brought out daily in Sanskrit language. Two news papers namely ‘Sanskrit
Samwad’ and ‘Vak’ are brought out on fortnightly basis and one newspaper
namely Amritbhaha is published on monthly basis. All these papers are provided
financial assistance by the RSKS.
