Question : MODERN PUBLIC CONVENIENCE COMPLEX



(a) whether the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has constructed modern public convenience complexes during 2000-2001;

(b) if so, whether the users are charged for using the said facilities;

(c) if so, whether the NDMC is also providing free of charge public conveniences in its areas;

(d) if so, whether free of charge public conveniences constructed earlier are also being repaired and maintained keeping in view the convenience and need of the general public; and

(e) the total number of old and modern public convenience complexes located in the areas under the NDMC?

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir.

(c) & (d): The old public conveniences are still being maintained and are available for the public free of charge. However, some of the old toilets which were in the vicinity of the new modern public Conveniences constructed by New Delhi Municipal Council have been demolished.

(e): There are 236 old toilets and urinals and 33 modern public conveniences complexes in the New Delhi Municipal Council area as of now.
