(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. Certain eminent theatre personalities have submitted such representation to the Government. The important demands are:-
1. Define National Theatre policy âAccording National Theatre status to all the national languages theatres of India.
2. Allocate resources for theatre to adequately face the huge challenge of entertainment industry.
3. National School of Drama, National Theatre Repertory and Theatre-in-Education Programme may be set up in all the States of the country.
4. Do âcultural auditingâ of the existing central and state cultural institutions (apart from their financial auditing).
(c) The Government has directed the National School of Drama to discuss the issue in the appropriate forum of the School i.e. the National School of Drama Society.
